WEEKEND RECAP: Chinatown

We decided to kick off our Chinese New Year celebration a little early and head to Chinatown on Saturday. Last year we went to the San Francisco Chinatown, which is always a blast. But this year, we have a baby in tow, so we opted for the Oakland Chinatown. From past experiences, it gets crazy crowded, and I didn't want to run people over with a stroller. Though, sometimes its a good tool because people just automatically move on the side for you. I may just push one around when the kiddos are fully walking just to get the same service. HA!

We went pretty early, so the crowd wasn't too bad. We picked up some baked goods (egg tarts, pineapple buns, bbq pork buns and sweet rolls). And as tradition, ate some delicious dim sum. By the time we came out of the restaurant, it was packed! On our way back to the car, we stopped to get our egg waffle. I had one last year except this bambino was 7 months and in my belly. So it was fun to get to share it with her this year. She loved it. Hooray for teeth!

Until next year, Chinatown...
